Mandatory ePrescribing for All Medications and Prescription History Checks in Tennessee
As of January 1, 2021, Tennessee law went into effect requiring all controlled substance prescriptions be transmitted electronically. Tennessee dentists are also required to complete prescription history checks through the Tennessee Controlled Substance Monitoring Database (CSMD) before dispensing or prescribing opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or carisoprodol.
